Our latest project, developed in Fót for Special Effects Land & Services Ltd., is a modern, multifunctional workshop. This facility was brought to life through innovative structural design and cutting-edge construction technologies.
Challenges and Solutions
The design process addressed the distinct functionalities of the workshop’s various sections—office, workshop, warehouse, and an open canopy—by treating them as separate structural units. The primary load-bearing structure is a solid-beam steel frame carefully designed using rolled HEA and IPE profiles. Rigid joints ensure the building's stability.
The warehouse and open canopy feature additional structural elements, such as trusses and tension-compression rods, forming a spatial bracing system that guarantees longitudinal and transverse stability.
Modern Materials and Technologies
The façade and roof cladding feature PIR sandwich panels and trapezoidal sheets, while the roofing insulation comprises EPS and rock wool layers for efficient thermal performance. The office building’s floor structure combines steel and concrete for durability and load-bearing capacity.
Structural elements were manufactured and installed according to EN 1090 standards, ensuring the highest levels of quality and reliability. For corrosion protection, the structures were coated with a C3 category paint system compliant with ISO 12944 standards.
Fire Protection and Safety
Fire safety was a key consideration in the design, with the structures meeting R30 fire resistance requirements through fire-resistant coatings. The thickness of the fireproof paint layers was carefully calculated, adhering to the ISO fire curve's temperature thresholds.
Geotechnical Foundations
The foundations and groundwork were based on a geotechnical report by H-Geo Mine Ltd. Monolithic reinforced concrete foundations and S235JR steel columns were connected with bonded anchor bolts, ensuring long-term stability.
